Weddings at Morton
We are proud of our church facility and pleased to make our sanctuary available for wedding services. Full details of restrictions that we ask you to observe, as well as necessary forms and contracts to be completed, can be obtained by requesting a copy of the Wedding Policy.
The following questions are those we are most frequently asked.
How many people will the sanctuary hold? Our sanctuary can seat comfortably 150–200 people.
Is there a fee to use the Church? Yes. There is a reservation fee to use the church for your rehearsal and wedding. Details are provided in the Wedding Policy.
How do we reserve the Church for our wedding? When we receive your completed application form and half of the required reservation fee, we will place your wedding service on our calendar. One month prior to your wedding, we must receive the rest of the reservation fee.
May we use our wedding coordinator for the rehearsal and ceremony? Yes, but this person must still work with the coordinator from our church.
May we use flowers and/or other decorations in the sanctuary? Yes. You may decorate the church and use flowers of your choice. Only non-drip candles may be used. No tape may be used on walls or pews. No rice or birdseed may be thrown, but flower petals or bubbles (outside) are fine.
When may we decorate the church? The wedding coordinator will work with you to let your florist, and/or others who will be assisting you, into the church at a designated time prior to your rehearsal and wedding.
Are there restrictions on the type of music that may be played during the wedding? Yes. Your wedding will take place in a sanctuary dedicated for Christian worship. To maintain the spiritual integrity of the space, hymns and classical music of your choice are strongly encouraged.
May we use the church's piano, organ, and/or sound system? Yes. Our instrumentalists and sound technicians will gladly work with you. If these services are needed, please contact the wedding coordinator for details.
Are there rooms available in which the bride and bridesmaids may dress? Yes. Restroom space is very limited but there are Sunday school rooms available in the Education Annex.
Are facilities available for a rehearsal dinner and/or wedding reception? Yes. We have a kitchen and dining area that are adequate for dinners and receptions that are not too large.
May we move the sanctuary furniture? No. Except for folding chairs, chancel candles, paraments, and items on the altar table, no furniture or equipment may be moved.
What about custodial services? You are responsible for removing all decorations immediately following your wedding service. This will allow our custodian time to clean the church prior to Sunday morning worship services. If this is done in a timely fashion, part of the reservation fee may be refunded.
